Arrive Avignon a day early to tour the town and visit the Palais du Papes on your own.

Day 1 May 2nd- Saturday
Check into hotel after your arrival and unpack.
Eat lunch and tour this charming walled medieval village, the birthplace of Nostradamus.
Then we’ll head to Van Gogh’s asylum (shown above) where we’ll see his room, tour the ancient Abbey and see the Roman Ruins nearby. We’ll leave plenty of time to head to Soleido, one of the best stores in all of Provence.
Dinner in town at a lovely place town known for their incredible French pastries.
Day 2 – Sunday May 3rd
Head to Ile sur la Sorgue for market day, visit the lovely church here and the ancient waterwheels in this island town.
Picnic in the Fontaine de Vaucluse and take a walk up to the top after lunch. Back to ISLS for antique shopping and after enjoy a sumptuous seafood meal in a little cabin-like room given by the town’s best fish monger (a lady!). 40 min drive
Day 3 – Monday May 4
Head out for a truffle hunt and tasting. See photo below. Lunch and then shopping in Lourmarin.
4 – 6 Visit Gordes and the Borie village on the way home.
8pm Dinner nearby in Les Baux, after the tourists have left.
Day 4 Tuesday May 5th
Head out to Rousillon and walk the Ocre Trail 50 min drive
Then lunch in Menerbes. Discover Goult & Bonnieux (above) after lunch followed by a wine tasting (if time allows).
Dinner back in St. Remy sitting out on the patio of a lovely Provençal classic.
Day 5 Wednesday May 6th
Aix en Provence is where we’ll head today. We’ll explore this charming city chock full of fountains at every turn. Lunch here and then visit Cezanne’s Atelier. 1 hr drive
Back to St. Remy – dinner on your own.
Day 6 Thursday May 7th
Depart for the perfect seaside town of Cassis.
Here we’ll tour the town and then see the Calanques by boat (last photo) and after we’ll do some rosé wine tasting. There is an incredible perfume store in town where we’ll spend some time leaving time for additional shopping in this darling town. The rosé made here is the very best in France. 1 hr 20 min drive
Dinner in Martigues on the way home where we’ll enjoy a casual Lebanese meal by the sea.
Day 7 Friday May 8th AM
Visit the Les Baux experience a surround sound art experience in the limestone quarries below this legendary town.
Lunch on the go.
Rhone river boat tour to see the Pont d’Avignon via the water.
Stroll around Châteauneuf du Pape, visit the crumbling Château here then we’ll experience a unique candlelight wine tasting and private dinner with our own French chef. This red rhone wine is the best in the area.
Saturday May 9th
Depart back home via Avignon train to Paris.
