Day 1 – July 13, Wednesday
You’ll be met at the Faa’a International Airport in Papeete, Tahiti after your overnight flight. The sounds of local musicians will greet you as you arrive at the international terminal. A greeter will meet you to fast track you through customs, facilitate your international welcome to French Polynesia and whisk you off to the Le Tahiti by Pearl Resorts where you will meet up with our group.
Prepare to let the stress of travel melt away as you soak in the resort’s infinity pool overlooking the azure-colored water of Matavai Bay. This historic location is rich in Tahitian & European history. Famous visitors who have dropped anchor here include Captains Cook, Bligh, Wallis, Bougainville and Charles Darwin. The resort is surrounded by a black sand beach which you may enjoy at your leisure. In Polynesian culture, Taurumi massage is a spiritual and therapeutic practice inherited from the ancestors. It is aimed to prevent and treat physical and spiritual pains by extracting all the negative energies of your body. We’ve arranged for you to enjoy a 50-minute Taurumi massage at the resort’s Tāvai Spa.
This is a free day to do as you wish, as our group may be arriving at slightly different times. If your flight is arriving very early in the day, and you are eager to explore nearby Papeete, we are happy to help facilitate this.
Late afternoon our group will gather for introductions and we’ll toast to our ensuing adventure with a specially prepared welcome cocktail and dinner in the resort’s Hiti Mahana Restaurant. The alfresco dining will be a perfect venue for launching our luxury tour of the Society Islands.

Upon arrival we’ll be transferred from the port to our beautiful resort hotel – the Sofitel Kia Ora Moorea Beach Resort. In the afternoon we will enjoy a 2-hour guided snorkeling tour that departs directly from the hotel beach. There will be a demonstration of proper use of the snorkeling gear & sea scooters. We will then plunge into the turquoise lagoon and see loads of tropical fish and possibly stingrays and turtles in their natural habitat. Here’s what it looks like.

Hopefully a sea turtle or two will also wander our way.
During this full-day excursion 9:30-3pm, you’ll have a unique view of this lush island from the lagoon, while swimming and snorkeling in the clearest of waters. Then, you’ll arrive at a tiny islet (known as a motu in Tahitian) for a special picnic lunch. Our guides will demonstrate the preparation of poisson cru a local Polynesian dish (similar to ceviche) and prepare a full barbecue feast. This is destined to be both an informative and exhilarating day.
Dinner tonight will be at the resort in the PURE Restaurant.

There is nothing to rival the consistent sailing conditions, the majestic mountain scenery, the exceptional diving and the most beautiful lagoons in this area. The atoll of Tupai is heart shaped and uninhabited. The beaches and the lagoon on this beautiful islet are spectacular. And of course we’ve saved the best for last. Tonight, we will enjoy something quite special as we end our journey in paradise. We will enjoy a farewell dinner together on the beach with a thirst quenching pre-diner cocktail followed by a 3-course meal complete with wine and champagne and just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, you’ll be entertained by an hour of live music and traditional Polynesian dance.
