Itinerary

Day 1 – May 14, Saturday

Arrive at the Naples International Airport (NAP) by midday. You’ll be greeted at the airport and transferred to your 4-star hotel for the first of a two night stay. Take some time to settle in and freshen up before meeting the rest of the GG2P group in the lobby for a drink around 6:30pm. Bring your swimsuit as our hotel has a pool.

We’ll then head out for an enjoyable welcome dinner. Get to know the other women on this trip and learn about what’s scheduled for our week together.

Meals: Welcome dinner

Hotel: Costantinopoli 104

Day 2  – May 15, Sunday

After breakfast at the hotel, we’re paying a visit to Vulcan—or Hephaestus if you prefer his Greek incarnation. Today we’ll discover Vesuvius, the volcano that stopped time in 79AD, as we make our way to one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Italy.

You’ll witness the damage Vesuvius inflicted as a an expert local guide leads you through Pompeii. This ancient city was buried in 20 feet of volcanic ash when Vesuvius erupted. This natural disaster allows us to now look upon life as it was almost 2000 years ago.

From Pompeii, we’ll hop in our private van and zip off to lunch and a wine tasting. Sample wines from this volcanic area before heading back to Naples for some downtime and shopping.

In the evening, gather with your GG2P crew for dinner together in one of Naples’ many wonderful restaurants, pasta anyone?

En route from Naples to Vico Equense, we’ll stop for a foodie tour of the region. Explore an olive oil mill and taste local oil varieties. Then tour a limoncello factory and learn how this golden sunshine digestive is made and why the regional lemons are so important to its production.

Once in Vico Equense, settle into your luxurious 5-star hotel. Relax with a drink on the terrace. Go shopping and explore this charming seaside town. Read with an Aperol spritz in hand as your gaze at the jaw-dropping view of the mediterranean.

In the evening, we will gather for dinner at the hotel’s beautiful restaurant

Day 4 – May 17 – Tuesday

Today, we’ll sail over to the Island of Ischia. The ferry ride is absolutely part of the adventure. Ride on the top deck for the best photo ops. Located next to Capri, Ischia is lesser known and further off the well-worn tourist route, which adds to its appeal. You’ll discover an island laden with beaches, thermal spas, and lush forest trails.

Our local guide will whisk us off to the medieval lanes of the Aragonese Castle and show us some of the most impressive spots on the island during our guided tour.

In the afternoon, it’s time to get serious about self-care. Relaxation is part of the Ischia experience. In fact, the island’s healing thermal waters are a huge draw for visitors from all over the world. Your adventure includes entrance into one of the island’s best thermal water parks, offering numerous pools and an idyllic beachfront with sun loungers and umbrellas. Pop on those sunnies and get ready to unwind.

In the evening, we catch the ferry back to Vico Equense. It’s been a long, enriching and beautiful day.

Dinner is on your own at one of the many restaurants in Vico Equense proper, or opt for a simple meal at the hotel.

Day 5 – May 18 – Wednesday

After breakfast at the hotel, our private driver will pick us up to explore the highlights of the Amalfi Coast. This is the Amalfi you’ve seen on postcards and travel shows, the curling coastline featuring dramatic cliffs and colorful villas juxtaposed against the azure sea.

We’ll visit Ravello, Amalfi, and Positano, three villages guaranteed to fill your camera with snapshots of La Dolce Vita! Fragrant lemon groves line the hillsides and darling shops and cafes hide along cobblestone alleyways.

Getting from Positano to Amalfi is part of the fun because we’ll take a mini-cruise in a boat from one beach-side town to the next. The rest of the tour will be by mini-bus.

Enjoy a traditional lunch with our GG2P crew during this all-day trip.

In the evening, put your feet up at the hotel or head out for dinner in Vico Equense on your own

On the island, we will zip into town using the funicolare. There will be plenty of time to stop and savor a delicious lunch made of seasonal local ingredients.

Then, it’s time to launch and find a new point of view. Discover Capri by boat during a guided island tour. For those interested, swimming at the famous Blue Grotto can be checked off your bucket list. At the end of our day, we’ll catch the fast boat back to Sorrento and then transfer to Vico Equense for the night.

This is our last night in Vico Equense so we’ll amble down to the seaside to the simple seaside restaurant, Mustafa, with the water lapping at our feet

Then, settle into your hotel and decide how to spend your last day. You’ll have a few hours to catch anything you missed during your first day, such as historic monuments, shopping, or one last flaky sfogliatella (or a slice of pizza!).

We conclude our GG2P adventure together with a pizza-making class. Learn to bake a traditional pizza pie and then enjoy it with wine as we swap stories together.
