In honor of Valentine’s Day in the world’s most romantic city, this week’s Paris fashion post is dedicated to love. If you are wondering what to wear on your next visit to the city that is also one of the world’s most […]
Shopping in Paris despite the winter chill? Why not take a tiki time-out and head to Dirty Dick. Get off the streets and take a break to order one of the bar’s famous fruity cocktails. If you’re with a group be sure […]
With the arrival of the chilly weather, jackets and coats are a Paris fashion essential for winter. Finding the right jacket to fit your style is an important part of staying warm and looking stylish. Motorcycle jackets […]
Fashion is one of the first things I think of when I’m about to wander around the streets of Paris. “What will I wear today?” is a big question when there are so many artists of dressing and well-appointed Parisians walking around. But right now when I get outside the last thing I want to do is parade up and down the boulevards, and it’s not because I’m ashamed of my clothes; it’s because I’m really, really cold.
As winter descends on Paris and the temperature falls with the rain (and even snow), it’s hard to motivate oneself to get out of the house or hotel. And once you’ve been outside, wandering the chilly streets beneath an umbrella, there’s nothing that sounds better than a nice cocktail, a fireplace and a plush couch. For these wintry days, there are cozy Paris bars for every kind of Paris girl.
As we begin our warm-weather Paris shopping—and ask winter to kindly leave as we beg spring to spring—we have to admire the cold-weather ensembles that the ever-chic Parisians have put together in these frosty months. Here are a few of my favorites.
First, a romantic look in Pigalle that proves winter doesn’t have […]
Traveling outside of Paris to warmer climes? As temperatures stay low and the winter rain falls on the boulevards of the City of (now foggy) Light, it’s time for a break, even from Paris shopping! Net-A-Porter is our go-to both in the city and abroad when we need chic pieces with that perfect bit of edge. We adore the urban-cool appeal of Reed Krakoff’s leather-paneled black top […]
Ah, le ski. We have been inspired by the recent snowy weather in Paris. When the temperatures drop and the snow falls, our absolute favorite activity (other than Paris shopping, of course!) is to hit the slopes for a day—or weekend!—of skiing. From the Gare de Lyon, you can take the TGV straight to the Alps for some of the best skiing Europe has to offer. After a long day in the snow, the question is, “What to wear après le ski?”
It is very cold in Paris now with chance of snow. Snow adorning the boulevards is not the only thing winter has brought to the City of Light: the ever-remarkable Paris street fashions have been trimmed with fur.
Fur, real or faux, lifts the simplest black coat and skinny dark blue jeans to a new level of sophistication and even a little decadence.
Winter in Paris is an underrated season, one that turns the city into a poem of blues and grays. Still, its chilly winds and darker days can sap your spirits. The cure lies in special Paris luxuries: vin chaud (warm spiced wine), colorful scarves—and scented candles.
