Day 1 – April 20th, Tuesday
Arrive, refresh, unpack and relax at our charming hotel in St. Remy owned by Vicki Archer, blogger and author of MY FRENCH LIFE, and FRENCH ESSENCE.
Drinks start at 7pm and then we’ll dine at a wonderful local restaurant outside on their terrace in the village of St. Remy de Provence. St. Remy is famous for 3 people: Nostradamus was born here, Princess Caroline of Monaco summers here and Van Gogh stayed here for a time in what was then an Asylum (after the ear incident). He was at his most productive whilst living in this area.

Day 2 – April 21st, Wednesday
Today we’ll explore the environs of historic St. Remy and visit Van Gogh’s monastery where he lived and painted and in addition we’ll get to see some Roman Ruins nearby. Then we’ll head to Menerbes, the town made famous by the book a Year in Provence for lunch. After lunch we’ll enjoy a rosé wine tasting at one of the local Domaine’s.
We’ll head back to our hotel for some free time for rest and relaxation, leaving time to explore the town more on your own.
Dinner will be in nearby Les Baux where we’ll enjoy the opportunity to explore this most famous town once the hordes of tripists have left.
We’ll dine at the quintessentially local and authentic Provençal restaurant, Une Table au Soleil.
Day 3 – April 22nd, Thursday
Today is our truffle hunt with the experts & their dogs, you’ll learn everything you never knew about truffles, how they’re raised and why they cost so much. After tasting our freshly dug truffles with champagne by the pool at the proprietors home, we’ll head to the beautiful village of Lourmarin and enjoy a light lunch.
After lunch we’ll have time to walk around, sight see and shop the exquisitely chic shops of this picturesque town.
NOTE: This is one of Peter Mayle’s favorite villages in Provence.
In the late afternoon we’ll be instructed on how to play Petanque by our truffle guys. Petanque is the Provençal version of Boule, a game played outside with metal balls. While we play we’ll enjoy a light apéro as well as home-made paté and Pastis made by Jean-Marc, owner of the truffle dogs.
Dinner will be held in the garden under the olive trees (if weather allows) at the Michelin recommended La Table d’Yvan Restaurant just outside of St. Remy.
Day 4 – April 23rd, Friday
Because it’s so famous, we dare not miss the market at Isle-sur-la-Sorgue which is well known throughout the region for it’s classic marché items such as: local olives, cheeses, jams, flowers and even French espadrilles and Provençal fabrics.
We’ll have a chance to explore this darling town surrounded by a river and watermills including a peek inside their 17th century church with its gorgeous painted blue walls and gilded nave.
Lunch today will be at the delightful Jouvaud Patisserie and tea salon which also seconds as a charming gift shop. Their savory pastries, soups and salads are light and delicious.
There is an option this afternoon head to the Fontaine de Vaucluse, the source of the Sorgue river. Here we will take a short nature walk which will inspire and refresh you.
Tonight we’ll relax and enjoy a simple but tasty meal in town at Le Moulin de Sophie.
Day 5 – April 24th, Saturday
Today we’ll rise early to experience morning at the beautiful market near Uzès with chef Eric. After shopping for our ingredients we’ll head back to his cooking school for an enjoyable and entertaining hands-on cooking class. After our labors we’ll dine with wine on our fixins’.
After class, we’ll stroll around the village of Uzès and take a peak and have tea in the petite and charming Medieval garden.
Dinner on your own @ hotel or in town.
Day 6 – April 25th, Sunday
Today we’ll sleep in, and after a sumptuous breakfast at our hotel, we’ll head to the impossibly beautiful town of Gordes. We shall trip this charming village, named one of the most beautiful in France and after we’ll visit the old village of Bories. Here you’ll learn about the unique way sheep herders used to live and farm in the region.
Lunch is in Gordes, enjoying the view over the countryside while we tuck into our Provençal repas.
In the afternoon we’ll visit Rousillon, the famous red village where we’ll walk the Ocre trail and explore this lovely town leaving a bit of time for some souvenir shopping.
We arrive back to hotel early enough so you can lounge, exercise, read or just relax.
A magnificent farewell dinner to be held at the Michelin Starred restaurant at the Hotel De Tourrel. The ideal setting for our last meal dinner in Provence.
Day 7 – April 26th, Monday
Breakfast, photo sharing & depart.
