Pastry and Chocolate Tour

Stop and admire the Palais du Luxembourg (Le Sénat), which was formerly Marie de Médicis’s palace and is now home to the French Senate. Turn left here, onto rue de Tournon. Walk along this street until it becomes rue de Seine. Here you’ll find Gérard Mulot, at 76, rue de Seine (corner of rue Lobineau). We love everything at Mulot, so sample whatever catches your eye. Maybe you are ready for a bit of a savory taste. Their small quiches are excellent, and they will warm them up for you.

Follow rue de Seine north toward boulevard St.- Germain, where you’ll turn right. Walk all the way to number 108, the chocolate master Patrick Roger’s delightful store. We love the fantastic window displays and his creative concoctions using spices from all around the world. Plus, the plain chocolate bars are simply superb. We love his aqua-green packaging, and all in all we just LOVE Patrick Roger. Pick up a gift here unless you are already loaded down.

For a peaceful end to a decadent day, we suggest a stop into Diptyque , at 34, boulevard St.- Germain (01 43 26 77 44), to pick up a gift for yourself or a friend. Their candles and perfumes are legendary. You simply cannot go wrong here.
