Paris Fashion: Color!
There is a myth that Paris fashion demands that Parisians wear only black. Today the team at L’Exception brings you beautiful, bright-colored dresses for day or evening. Architecturally designed monochrome dresses can be worn so chicly, and they let you stand out from the crowd even if you are not accustomed to wearing color.
This spring and summer, we love these two signature pieces from Lutz Huelle, a talented French designer who emphasizes the original cut and the luxurious material that he uses. The sparkling green silk dress with a draped effect at the back creates a fluid, voluminous texture that immediately shifts our focus and appreciation to its feminine design. He manages to use techno yellow in another evening dress to create a new style that is simple yet complicated at the same time. He uses a draped neckline and the slot opening at the shoulders to add a feminine touch to the straightly cut dress. Architectural details mix with bright colors to make these two dazzling pieces the perfect cocktail dresses for a night out on the town in Paris or at a château.
Tip: Match either dress with a simple white or black clutch to balance the color tone, and platform shoes to complement the form of the dress.
Dresses by Lutz Huelle
Lutz Huelle studied fashion design at Central Saint-Martins in London before working at Maison Martin Margiela. With his business partner David Ballu, he created Lutz in 2000. His talent was immediately noticed by the pros, who twice awarded him the prestigious ANDAM Fashion Award in France! Lutz works on the principle of decontextualization: the idea of creating clothes in a way they were not meant to be used. He creates original collections in which each detail and cut is carefully studied.
Shoes by Mi-Mai
Céline Thomas designed the first collection of Mi-Mai at the end 2008 with the idea of creating a brand that would be luxurious, trendy yet accessible. She dares to use materials such as ostrich, snake and pony and mixes them with bold designs. She seduces faithful customers at her store in the Marais, which was her first, and at her second store, on the left bank in Paris. The Mi-Mai collections are available exclusively on L’Exception.com. You will find a unique selection of her most beautiful shoes, which will carry you throughout the day, from work meeting to romantic dinner.
