Overview

Join us for a fresh start to the year at our wellness retreat in beautiful Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, a charming coastal village tucked amid palm lined beaches on the Pacific side of the Nicoya peninsula. Not long ago, Santa Teresa was a remote fishing village and the rest of the peninsula was known for its coastal ranching and diverse eco-jungles. Today, visitors come to Santa Teresa to enjoy its off-the-beaten track feel for relaxation and surfing. The area boasts a number of beautiful white sand beaches, consistent waves (perfect for surfing) and unbelievable sunsets.

The peaceful, low-key vibe along with the region’s identification as one of the five “Blue Zones”, makes this an ideal spot for our wellness retreat. We’ll take time to rejuvenate our minds, bodies and spirits, and prepare for an exciting new year. Are you ready to have your breakthrough year?

Highlights:

  • Relaxing at your own private oasis – Natura Loft Garden, located steps from Santa Teresa’s white sandy beach
  • Yoga and Meditation Daily
  • Healthy, delicious local food each day
  • Surf lessons in the clear blue waters of Playa Hermosa
  • Exploring the Montezuma waterfalls + swimming in its pools
  • Snorkel and swim with sea turtles, rays and an enormous assortment of tropical fish
  • Swim in clear, clean, crystal blue waters
  • A sunset horseback ride on the beach
  • Visiting a local farm to experience first-hand why this region is one of the world’s five “Blue Zones” where people live longer and healthier lives
  • Try a new spiritual modality to open your mind

I’m thrilled to be hosting this women-only retreat with two dear friends – Krista Stanley and Shawna Robins – two of the best humans you’ll ever meet. Each have exceptional talents in unique wellness and spiritual modalities. (See bio’s below).

As a group we’ll focus daily on our Mind-Body-Soul-Spirit connection with a focus on developing our intuitive eating sensibility, learning how to lower our stress levels naturally and practicing important techniques to restore and rejuvenate our bodies.

We’ll connect with our souls by tuning-in during our morning meditation and yoga. During our daily excursions plus listening via our dreams, we’ll set an intention for the new year allowing for endless possibilities. We’ll learn more about the presence of spirit in our lives and in our world as we explore and delight in our beachside haven allowing us to return home feeling restored, vibrant, energized, and alive!

If you’re feeling called to discover your most authentic self, we’d love for you to join us!

Itinerary

Day 1 – January 13, Thursday

Arrive Mid-Day – Transfer from Tambor, Costa Rica airport (included)

We’ll meet early afternoon poolside with a light lunch brought into our private residence. We’ll chat and introduce ourselves and listen to a briefing about the modalities offered during this long weekend plus we’ll go over our schedule and the options available.

This afternoon will be at leisure by the pool or on the beach. Our accommodation is just steps from a lovely beach. Santa Teresa boasts several of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica and annual temperature range is consistently between 77-87 degrees.

Optional Jet Lag massages will be available in the afternoon (not included).

Tonight, we’ll walk down the beach for dinner at Manzú a Beachfront Restaurant, offering a nice selection of Costa Rican and Latin American specialties including vegan options, with stunning sunset views. Sunset is at 5:38 pm.

Day 2 – January 14, Friday

5:55 am guided sunrise meditation (Sunrise 6:01)

6:30 yoga on the beach

Breakfast from 7:30-9:30 am

We kick off today a little early so we can enjoy a special sunrise meditation. This morning after breakfast we’ll have an Intention Discussion. We’ll be setting our intentions for our long weekend together as part of our work with our dreams and improved sleep. We’ll also discuss the process of Lightning Dreamwork – which allows those who desire, to share their dreams over breakfast throughout our trip. Breakfast is a perfect time as people are gathered and they often can still remember dreams from night before. Krista will be tracking dreams visually throughout our five-day trip by creating a collage of visuals so we can witness how the dream reality interacts with our waking reality. What you can learn from your dreams is amazing!

10 am – We’ll be picked up to head out for our Montezuma Falls Quest – an optional first stop is the zip line canopy tour in Mal País. For those interested, when ziplining we go from treetop to treetop on one of the most exciting zip-lines in Costa Rica while enjoying the great views of the tropical forest and the Pacific Ocean.

Our adventure continues as we drive through the mountains and along white sand beaches. Upon reaching Montezuma we’ll take a short walk to these stunning waterfalls. There are three falls in total, the largest of which is 24 meters (79 ft.). Below the falls are large pools where we can swim and cool off.

After our adventure at the falls, we’ll relax and enjoy a Costa Rican lunch in an excellent local restaurant, then we’ll walk around the town of Montezuma to visit some local artisans in their shops before heading back to Santa Teresa (Our excursion start to finish is approximately 5 hours.)

This afternoon enjoy some downtime by the pool or at the beach.

Tonight after sunset, Krista will lead a trance session to Meet Your Spirit Guide(s).

After this mind-blowing experience we’ll take a short walk to Katana Asian Cuisine a local favorite for an Asian inspired dinner (a 20-minute walk). Following dinner Shawna will guide us in relaxation techniques including the introduction of gratitude journaling, sleep stories, sound bath meditation and “best practices” to help induce restful and restorative sleep which as we’ve all learned is so important for longevity and health.

Day 3 – January 15, Saturday

7am guided meditation

7:30 yoga

8:30-10 Breakfast.

Krista will lead dreamwork discussions and Shawna will discuss her top expert tips on best sleep hygiene so you can sleep more deeply, repair and restore your brain health and ways to improve your energy levels.

Appointments will be available from 10-12 for a personalized Trance Mediumship session with Krista or a private coaching session with Shawna.

We’ll grab a light and refreshing lunch at a nearby favorite.

Santa Teresa is one of the most beloved surfing areas in all of Central America. This afternoon you may choose to challenge yourself with an optional activity in and around the water such as taking a surfing or stand-up paddleboard lesson, snorkeling in tidepool or going on a horseback ride on the beach. We’ll let you decide. (cost included)

Late this afternoon after a rest at our private oasis, we’ll head out for a Sunset dream discussion with Krista followed by cocktails or mocktails and dinner at Habanero, beachfront Mexican and a local favorite, just a 15-minute walk from Natura Loft Gardens.

Day 4 – January 16, Sunday

7am guided meditation

7:30 yoga

8:30 -10 Breakfast

We’ll continue with our dreamwork discussion lead by Krista. Shawna will teach us why food is the most powerful medicine you can use. We’ll learn why diets don’t work, how to eat intuitively and how to use food as one of your greatest healing modalities for sleep, disease prevention and improving your quality of life.

Today we are excited to take you on a full-day adventure that will help you better understand why the Nicoya Penninsula is considered one of the five regional Blue Zones. Blue Zones is a concept used to identify a demographic and/or geographic area of the world where people live measurably longer lives. In Costa Rica, the Nicoya Peninsula is one of those areas. The residents of these regions live healthier and longer-lives, produce a high rate of centenarians, suffer a fraction of the diseases that commonly kill people in other parts of the developed world, and enjoy more healthy active years of life. In Nicoya most live into their 90’s and a lot of people reach 100 or more!

This tour of a traditional farm will allow you to participate in the daily life of a typical Costa Rican farmer. The recipe to achieving such high standards of “quality life” is based on strong family ties, faith, plant base diet, constant physical activity, sunshine, no smoking and no alcohol.

Some of the activities you can be part of include milking cows, making traditional fresh cheese, and the entire process of making raw sugar (from harvesting the sugarcane to extracting its sweet juices and then cooking it). This tour includes lunch, made with fresh ingredients coming from the farm.

The farm is located approximately 40 minutes from Santa Teresa/Mal País area. This excursion is 5+ hours.

Upon returning to Santa Teresa, you can choose some free leisure time or complete remaining appointments for a personalized Trance Mediumship session with Krista or a personal coaching session with Shawna.

This evening Doni (Founder of GG2P) will lead us in a Sunset Gratitude Ritual.

Dinner will be a relaxed affair poolside with Shawna leading us in a Blue Zone cooking class using local, fresh ingredients and further discussing how food is one of the best healing modalities.

Following dinner we’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a sound bowl meditation with an expert.

Day 5 – January 17, Monday

7 am departure – (Excursion is approximately 2 hours)

We are off to an early start today – grab your breakfast to go and visit Cabo Blanco National Park. The early start is meant to improve our chances of seeing animals during their most active time.

Enjoy a short easy walk-through Cabo Blanco National Park with a naturalist who will help identify and point out some of the animals and birds in their natural habitat.

Cabo Blanco has its own special place in the history of Costa Rica, becoming the first National Park in Costa Rica in 1963.

The forest provides refuge to a large variety of animals like white-tailed deer, pacas, armadillos, anteaters, howler and capuchin monkeys, coyotes, porcupines, raccoons, coatis, wild cats like ocelots, jaguarundis and margays.

More than 240 species of birds have been recorded in Cabo Blanco, along with seabirds you can also see magpie jays, motmots, long-tailed manakins, egrets, crested caracaras, black-headed and elegant trogons, chachalacas, ringed kingfishers and various types of parrots and parakeets.

The most abundant tree in Cabo Blanco is the Pochote (Spiny Cedar) with some specimens over 120 feet high. Other impressively tall trees are the Ceiba (Silk Cotton Tree), which can tower up to 180 feet, and the fast growing Espavel (Wild Cashew).

Enjoy eating like a local when we stop for lunch in a local “soda” (a mom & pop open air restaurant) on our way back from Cabo Blanco.

Our afternoon will be spent back in Santa Teresa where you can spend time on the beach, exploring the tidal pools, practicing your surfing or lounging by the pool.

Tonight, we’ll celebrate our wonderful extended weekend with a farewell dinner in honor of new friend’s made as well as with gratitude for our bodies & minds returned to us relaxed, refreshed and ready for a powerful, positive, and healthy 2022! We’ll celebrate with great food and live music at the Banana Beach Restaurant!
