Day 1 Friday Sept 6th, 2019
Meet for cocktails at Chez Belau on Ile St Louis. Then have a typical bistro dinner at le Temps de Cerises a short walk from Doni’s flat. Meet Georgianna Lane* and get your books signed by both of us. (With this tour booking each participant will receive a copy of Doni Belau’s Paris Cocktail book and one of Georgianna Lane’s recently published book, Paris in Bloom.)
Day 2 Saturday Sept 7th
Flowers, shopping & cocktails 🍸
Today we’ll explore the florists of the Marais and stop for a short hand tying class. Georgianna Lane will share her tips on how to photograph flowers, a skill which she is very well known for.
Lunch at Brezih Cafe, to experience the best crêpes and galettes in town.
PM Free time allowing you to shop the Marais on your own.
It’s Saturday night which means it’s time for us to take a cocktail cruise around Pigalle and Montmartre with yours truly, author of Paris Cocktails. Divine nibbles will be had along the way.
Day 3 Sunday Sept 8th
Antiques & Music 🎵
We’ll wake up late today and then jump on the metro for our exploration of the Marché aux Puces. After shopping we’ll enjoy a late lunch at the market and spend the later part of the afternoon focusing on still life photography. We’ll wind up our day at the fleas with a stop to listen to Gypsy Jazz at Django Reinhardt’s cafe avec apero.
Tonight we’ll dine in Belleville and watch the sunset from one of the best spots in town. We’ll sing French Chansons for our traditional French supper.
Day 4 Monday Sept 9
History, architecture and plants 🌱
We’ll start off our day with a stroll around the central part of Paris specifically the Montorgueil quarter with Edith de Belleville. She’ll lead us on a History of the Great Women of Paris tour and we’ll stop for tastings along the way both savory and sweet. Our photography today will focus on architecture. Edith is a lawyer, a well-known guide who specializes in women’s history.
This afternoon we’ll stop for tea and then we’ll visit the the Jardin des Plantes spending some time focusing on flower and garden photography. We’ll end our afternoon with a visit to the iconic Shakespeare and Co., the most charming bookstore in the world.
This evening we’ll head to a Parisian wine bar to sample some superb French tapas and learn a bit about natural wine by tasting several varieties.
Day 6 Tuesday Sept 10
Artists & Portraits 🎨
This morning we’ll take a walking tour of the Canal St. Martin with a special focus on the small ateliers in the area. We’ll dine at one of the small unique cafes that line the canal which make this area so special.
PM Bring a change of clothes for our afternoon portrait session with Georgianna when she’ll share her secrets and we’ll each get a group and individual portrait by Miss Lane herself.
Tonight as we celebrate together we’ll award prizes for the best Paris shot, best still life, best floral and most improved, etc. Then we’ll kick back and relax and enjoy our very own private dinner prepared for us by our own French chef @ Doni’s home on Ile St. Louis. Feel free to assist in cooking or plating if you like.
Day 6 Wednesday Sept 11th
*Note: We are very lucky to have been able to partner with Georgianna Lane, who is a floral photography expert and has published 4 books with 2 more on the way. She has a huge instagram following but this marks one of the first times she’s revealed her photography secrets on a group tour.
