September 28th, Saturday
On our first night we’ll meet up in the capital of Ajaccio and take a walking tour of this lovely city before our welcome meal where we’ll savor local delicacies and taste superb Corsican wines.
Day 2 September 29th, Sunday
Today we board our vessels, one a catamaran and the other a traditional sailboat. Depart Ajaccio after a morning visit to Napoleon’s birthplace, which is now a museum. On board we’ll head north to the bay of Sagone where we’ll spend the night. Opportunities here for swimming, kayaking or para-sailing. Fresh local dinner will be served with wine aboard after watching the sunset fall into the horizon.
Day 3 September 30th, Monday
Today our destination is one of the most dramatic geological sites on the island, the Calanques of Piana. Tour the exquisite hillside towns of Ota and Piana and then dine ashore alfresco.
Day 4 October 1st, Tuesday
Head to the Scanfola reserve for some morning snorkeling followed by a longer sail and lunch aboard. Relax, read and look for dolphins. Tonight we’ll stay at Marina Di Lava and dine ashore on homemade pizzas beachside.
Day 5 October 2nd, Wednesday
Today we’ll head to the delightful Sanguinaire islands where’ll spend a peaceful night after climbing a lookout tower built 400 years ago and having a nature walk where we’ll learn about the maquis, the local herbs which grow wild all over the island and make everything smell sweetly. After our exercise we’ll take a quick swim in the sea. Sunset here is absolutely jaw dropping. Cocktails and dinner onboard.
Day 6 October 3rd, Thursday
Today we’ll venture further south to Port de Propiano where we’ll have an opportunity to visit the Notre Dame de la Misericorde church followed by some luxury shopping and even a visit to the spa. Dinner ashore on the harbor.
Day 7 October 4th, Friday
Onwards we go today to the stunning ancient town of Bonifacio, a walled medieval cobble stoned town on top of a perched hill. You’ll be talking about the gourmet Michelin recommended meal we have tonight for years to come.
Day 8 October 5th, Saturday
We’ll spend our final day touring the center of ancient Bonifacio. This will be followed by a tasting tour of some of the specialty food products grown and produced in Corsica washed down with
light Corsican whites and sparklers.
After a refreshing swim, we’ll spend our final night aboard and toast our week together and our shared memories of this beautiful island.
Day 9 October 6th, Sunday
Get your land legs back and say our final heartwarming goodbye’s.
