summer in france

I'm getting so excited about spending most of the summer in France, I can hardly stand it. Having just been there for two weeks, guiding some ladies around on a trip, I took a lot of snapshots. Looking back into my other files of photos as well, I've pulled out some things that I love about summer in France. If you haven't planned your trip yet, this should entice you.

You always hear that what people love about Paris and France is the beauty, the food, the romance, the history and the culture. But it really comes down to the little things. It's the small details that make you fall in love for the long term.

Is there anything better than a French cheese course?

Biking in the countryside.

cafe life
Café life.
Cascading flowers on limestone buildings.

Real Coke -- with sugar, not corn syrup.
door handles
Unique and unusual door handles.

Ornamental details.

Having a terrace in Paris.

Flowers at the market: these were 6 euros.
Foie gras is gorgeous, even in summer.
Fresh heart-shaped goat cheese, organic and made locally!
Wine for 1.90 euros a liter?!

courtyards
Hidden Parisian courtyards and cobblestone streets for pedestrians only.

manicured gardens
Manicured French gardens.

oysters
French oysters with caviar -- yes, you can eat them in the summer!

There is so much to love, I could go on and on.

Don't wait -- book a trip today so you can make your own album.

Note: We have a new walking tour, thanks to Kelly Page, our fabulous Foodie Fave blog writer and a contributor to our What's Hot blog. It's a sightseeing tour of the 5th Arrondissement, also known as the Latin Quarter. Download it today!

Here's looking ahead to a wonderfully long summer.
