Baan Boran is one of the city's best Thai restaurants, located accross the street from the historical Théâtre du Palais Royal. Michel, owner and a travel editor, has for decades traveled to Southeast Asia and enjoys sharing his tales and passion for the region. Baan Boran and its friendly staff all dressed in custom-fitted fine silks offer guests an anthentic voyage through Thai provinces - from locally sourced decorative accents to modern regional cuisine. House faves include spicy shrimp soup, fish with curry and coco cooked in a banana leaf, wild mountain rice prepared in a "basket" of rice straw, red curry scallops, green chicken curry and of course the traditional pad thai. Mangos (and most other delicacies for that matter) for desert are always out of this world. An inspiring escape, right in the heart of Paris. No wonder former President of France Jacques Chirac is a fan!
