At the market with Succulent Paris.
Pari Fermier, the gourmet food trade show that takes place each year on the outskirts of Paris, features 180 artisans and is considered the Tour de France of the country’s traditional food. With so many vendors, it would be difficult for a first-time visitor to this salon of taste to know her way around. What should she zero in on? Where are the golden eggs in this nest of spectacular foods?
We can help! As the duo behind Succulent Paris Food Tours, we offer guided tours of the salon. After working in the art and advertising worlds, we took some time off to raise our children and became serious foodies in the process. We followed our passion and formed a business back in 2008, and unlike other firms, we’ll give you a true Parisian take on the food scene in France.

Cooking class with Marion and Aurélie.
Pari Fermier arose from the desire of regional food producers and their regular customers to meet several times a year to sample products and exchange ideas. The exhibitors must be farmers or breeders who make the products they sell, and they must sell most of those products directly to consumers. All the farmers are eager to meet people who will appreciate their goods—they love for visitors to taste their specialties. But still, with so much to choose from, how does one know where to start and what not to miss?

We consider it our job to know who makes the most delicious goat cheese, foie gras, olive oil, honey, jam and cooked pork products in France. And let’s not forget the wines from Champagne, Irouléguy and Bordeaux. The list of goodies we are dying to show you is long yet scrumptious. Two must-haves are Les Champerloises’ exquisite lentils and L’Occitanoix’s nuts and nut confits. If all that food shopping makes you hungry, we can also help you compose a picnic or quick snack from the different stalls you have visited. After this teasing taste you’ll look forward to enjoying the rest of your finds in the comfort of your own home, hotel or Paris park bench.
Editor’s note: The Pari Fermier fair will be held in the beautiful parc Floral de Vincennes from October 15 to 18. If you’d like a private tour with Marion and Aurélie, please send us an email. We’ll put you in touch with this lovely pair.
