If you are in Paris you must go and see the exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs tracing the history of contemporary fashion. After publishing a book on the subject last fall, the museum is continuing its exploration of sartorial history with a two-part retrospective. The first show covers the 1970s and ’80s, the second the ’90s and 2000s. Together they bring the cycles of fashion into focus—you could easily take this 1978 Yves Saint Laurent suit and walk right out on the streets today and feel au courant.
